I should have mentioned this one, it’s brilliant. And unlike almost everything else on Vision Thing, it does kind of sound like it could have come from either of the previous two albums.
I was actually surprised how well I could remember it... This is my favourite from the album 🖤

if you’re wondering what TV & radio would look like without the bbc if the right had its way, picture the state of our privatised rivers & seas, but instead it’s raw sewage pumped into your telly & speakers

A soft lilt came calling me
The leafy sigh of autumnal poetry
Sweetly, languidly, a gentle melody
Pan's pipes on the breeze
Far off away in the golden trees.' (words N.A/art Elijah Cox)

I think we sometimes love certain places as they reflect what we feel, but can't say aloud. There's an old Hookland phrase – to be tulled – meaning to be caught between two worlds and at home in neither of them. I feel that a lot and I'm sure my favourite places do as well. – Martha Twilling #VOH

A reader told me she was asked to take off her Hellebore “Wind in the Willows” jumper before entering Westminster Abbey. The reason given was that it depicts the devil and might offend people. The reader explained it was the Greek god Pan, but the security guard didn’t backtrack. Satanic panic 2025.

One of those tunes that I just never tire of…it’s as if it has renewal running through it like a living force.

People talk about us Children of The Hum as 'weirdo hippies, 'ragged walkers' blindly following something they couldn't hear, couldn't understand. They never understood that we lived in a landscape of wonder. They saw pylons, we saw sublime structures. – Trippy Pete, ex-Pylon Person #VOH

I’ve been meaning to read The Puppet Masters since watching The Faculty way back when. Check out the “also available” titles.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK STAFF WHERE DRACULA’S GRAVE IS THERE ISN’T ONE.
Iconic sign from St Mary’s Church next to Whitby Abbey. I love that people think Bram Stoker’s Dracula was a real person/vampire who lived and died in Whitby.

On the coach I realised that I’d left it in the building. Claire the goth was like “not the new Sisters album??”, raising her eyebrows in mute horror when I answered in the affirmative. Without hesitation I sprinted back, retrieved it, and returned to the coach with seconds to spare 😆
I bought this in Leeds in 1990 after a student demo. I was actually quite excited I think, age 20 in my (goth standard) black leather biker jacket, eager to hear what had happened in the long 3 years since the majestic Floodland. Bless.
