These are corporations that ought to pay for THEIR power.
Not foist it off in the average rate-payers.

They can afford it.
They are for-profit entities that should charge for their service(s) to pay for THEIR power bill.

Just another CORPORATE WELFARE SCHEME being perpetrated by Big Money.

Utilities tend to want up front payment for building out extra capacity in excess of residential needs. If the companies don't want to pay that... This happens. One wonders why shareholders don't stop construction or demand that an agreement with the utility be signed before construction begins.

I'm but a simple elk, but it seems to me that an important criteria for scheduling a build of an expensive data center would be that the electricity necessary to run it would be available.

They've trained us to think that it's weakness to have government social programs. Actually, it's social investment.

Our taxes SHOULD go to education, healthcare, maternity, & other supporting systems instead of wasted on war. 🧵
