I can’t get Trey Reed out of my head.
In 2013, I was a teacher to 26 mostly Black fourth grade students in the town Trayvon Martin died in during his killer’s trial. It was a heavy time.
All of my kids are about Trey’s age now. And all I can think is “it could’ve been any one of them.”
