there's kind of an interesting inverse, too - abstract art is "signal in the shape of noise". It's interesting to reflect on how some people get really annoyed at / disrespectful of abstract art. I wonder how those people feel about LLM-generated text. I wonder if there's a pattern there.

So, this is a long shot, but: I'm looking to hire a developer/programmer for my non-profit arts org for ongoing part-time maintenance and troubleshooting work on a proprietary database that's coded primarily in VB[dot]net. (I know, long story, it is what it is.) Would appreciate leads/reposts!

Silksong nsfw artists appearing at the top of a hill holding this image aloft like the fiery sword of Michael
Spiders capable of climbing vertical walls often have specialized furry 'toes' called 'claw tufts’: where thousand of microscopic hairs (setules) protrude from each hair shaft.

This allows the spider to use Van der Waals' force to adhere to any surface. It is also, objectively, cute.
The science of spider paws
Pictures of spider paws have, of late, become popular on social media, eliciting the type of gushing – So cute! – usually reserved for kittens.

gourmand was hovering outside my bedroom so I walked downstairs to the living room until she ran past me and then I turned around and went back upstairs so I could go to bed in peace. Like tricking a damn Dishonored grunt

For the past few Bandcamp Fridays I’ve been a little self conscious posting about it, since I haven’t released any new music in awhile. However! People are always super cool and nice and supportive, and I’m very grateful 💚

So pls check out my music. It may not be new, but I’m still very proud of it

This is the most concise way I’ve seen it put, and obvi the push for AI (but also the decades-long push to devalue humanities relative to STEM) is in no small part intended to exacerbate 2) so they’ll accept any old garbage in place of actual spark
Pretty much any work that relies on creative skill is taking a bad hit; too many people look at it and think, “that’s not hard, *I* can do that” - so (a) they don’t value it, and (b) they can’t tell the difference between good and bad quality. As a result, they’re happy to settle for “cheap.”
So many industries and career paths are going this way

Has anyone found a mobile app/tool shader editor, ideally for Godot shaders? I’d love to mess with shader development more but I frequently don’t have access to a computer to do it on

At this point "you have a fucked up left arm" is basically a whole-ass souls subgenre lol. There's uh. Sekiro, Wuchang, Lies of P, Ai Limit, Khazan, pretty sure i forgot one or two more

rain world definitively not a metroidvania (Buddhist)
Metroidvanias are either Protestant or Catholic. Castlevania? Catholic, of course. Metroid? Protestant. Blasphemous is Catholic. Dead Cells, Protestant.

Hollow Knight is Protestant, but Hollow Knight: Silksong is Catholic. That's why people are complaining the game is hard. Cause it's Catholic now.

My feeling is that if you’re really worried about opsec or being identified as an ideological opponent of ICE (beyond, say, the normal protections like using an alias in Signal), then you are better off choosing a defensive role.

Every time I tried to decide on what my art style should be an older, wiser artist than me would tell me that instead of worrying about that I should just draw more, then they’d beat me half to death. I hope to pay it forward someday
Seeing artists get “what is this style called” flings me into despair… on one hand it’s a type of adaption for tag based social media, on the other hand the style is called that person’s fucking drawings!!! That style is called BEING ALIVE

It has been roughly two years since I did any meaningful game development even as a hobby and this is largely due to life stuff I’m very happy with but damn if I don’t wish I could carve up the time for myself somehow
