Cole Palmer is the Eloy Jimenez of the EPL
News of Cole Palmer’s freak toe fracture was communicated to Enzo Maresca in the form of an 11pm text from the club doctor. Plan was he'd return to training Thursday… but #CFC man stubbed his toe Wednesday... Just unlucky

A bit of a bummer of a move. With nothing at stake, I would have loved to see Gomez start the season in the rotation.

Across his first 8 starts with the White Sox down the stretch, Gomez had a FIP of 4.06.

I'd not be surprised to see him become a fixture in the Rays rotation.
Can confirm the White Sox are trading RHPs Yoendrys Gómez and Steven Wilson to the Tampa Bay Rays for OF Everson Pereira and INF Tanner Murray

From a financial perspective, the Cano signing was a massive success for the Mariners.

He put up insane value during his time in Seattle. He averaged nearly 5.5 bWAR per 162, and they got out of the bad half of the contract.

If anything, it should act as incentive to sign guys to massive deals!

Having to qualify a Kyle Hendricks appreciation post by mentioning the opinons of Joe Maddon is so fucking funny.

true cornball behavior
He was the man Maddon trusted to start Game 6 in the 2016 NLCS & won the game that sent the Cubs to the World Series. He was the man Maddon trusted to start Game 7 of the World Series. He is truly an all time Cubs legend. Congratulations on your retirement Kyle Hendricks.

On one TV at the bar I'm at is the "Emirates NBA Cup" and on the other is a tennis tournament in Riyadh sponsored by the Public Investment Fund.

Hell yeah, sportswashing

I think it's disappointing how people have forgotten the meaning of this joke.

The "change my mind" needs to be something false and ridiculous, because the premise of the original Crowder BS (and everything used by him since) was arguing a point that was patently false.

I'd love to see the White Sox pick up Corona.

I think giving him every day ABs could lead to a lot of value

The Brewers are going to claim Faedo, and somehow he'll make 20 starts with a 3.35 ERA next season.

Are we really at the point in American politics where people on the left have to defend a guy who was a guard at Abu Ghraib and undeniably had a Nazi tattoo? Is there literally no one else in the entire state of Maine without a Nazi tattoo and ties to a notorious torture prison??

After the onslaught of shots to end the match against Liverpool, it's a welcome change to watch Brentford cruise to an ostensibly easy win against Grimbsy today.

The Charlie Kirk conversation and the Israeli genocide conversation are mirrors.

every default "why won't you condemn political violence/Hamas?" is a designed distraction

Orioles interviewing assistant White Sox GM? Yeah, I called it
The Orioles saw the White Sox develop young talent and then refuse to build around it and thought, "hey, we can do that too!"

I've not seen any baseball projections factor the death of Charlie Kirk into World Series odds yet.

If 9/11 could push the Yankees to game 7 in 2001, there's no telling what the ceiling for this Cubs team is.

Every text I get about Charlie Kirk being dead, I'll make his face progressively smaller

James O'Keefe looks like he's about to inexplicably get drafted in the 6th round after an extremely middling college career.

Tanner McKee and Riley Leonard must be shaking in their boots.

It's wild this was spurred on by James O'Keefe. Apparently James learned what comedians and television writers have known for decades: it's very easy to get Republicans to say stupid shit on camera.

I really want the Rockies to win 3 more games before the end of the season.

It would be such a failure for the White Sox to make their fans suffer through the worst season of all-time, only to be so bad at everything that they can't even hold onto the record of being the worst

If illegal streaming platforms all disappear, I simply won't watch sports.

There's no lost revenue for leagues, services, or TV stations from the vast majority of users.

If it's there and free, we'll watch. If it's not, we won't.
Streameast — the world’s largest illegal sports streaming platform — has been shut down, according to a leading U.S-based anti-piracy organization.

The unauthorized domains generated 1.6B visits over the past year, providing free access to global sports fixtures.

It's a shame that #cardsky hasn't really ever picked up. Card Twitter from 2020-22 was such an awesome place to buy and sell.

Maybe one day, a similar, informal market will open elsewhere.
