Vidal Bruján has signed a split contract with the #Braves for 2026, removing one nontender decision from tomorrow afternoon

It's a minor league deal that gives him a higher salary if he makes the team out of spring.

Some roster flexibility & the ability to keep an out-of-options player there.

Both the Raisel Iglesias re-signing and the Mauricio Dubón trade made it across the finish line on Wednesday, but the front office has been working on both moves for a while

You'll have to forgive me if THIS does not inspire confidence, unless Atlanta's not done at short. We'll get AA in about fifteen minutes via Zoom to hopefully find out more

HAve to admit, I did not see Mauricio Dubón for Nick Allen straight up as the trade that the #Braves would do.

The Atlanta Braves just announced that they have brought back closer Raisel Iglesias on a one year, $16M deal for the 2026 season. Iglesias has a 2.35 ERA across 222 career appearances with Atlanta since he was acquired by the Braves at the 2022 trade deadline.

#Braves (lack of) news:

Per MLB.com's Mark Bowman, the Braves are not protecting ANY prospects before today's Rule 5 deadline.

Just stunned that they couldn't use one of their three open spots on Blake Burkhalter

Four players accepting the QOs is a record, which makes me wonder how players and agents view the prospect of re-entering free agency in what is expected to be a lockout offseason.

I had assumed we wouldn't see many one-year pillow deals this winter because of that
November 18, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Sounds awful convenient that Pittsburgh's largest free-agent contract EVER has been 3/$39M (Francisco Liriano in Dec 2014) and yet it leaked that they would have paid more than $78M to Josh Naylor before he signed with Seattle

Yeah sure, I've got a bridge to sell you
