And believe it or not, this is not a piece arguing the common suggestion of the Braves signing Adolis García

Now that baseball's over, I'm getting ready to finally start it so I'll be right there with you

The #Braves today declined to tender contracts for the 2026 season to RHP Alek Manoah and RHP Carson Ragsdale.

I'll always remember the Manoah Era. Legendary.

Suarez has also signed. Manoah and Lee to go
November 21, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Glad Houston's cheap
November 20, 2025 at 2:02 PM
They'd rather go with spot starters, strategially push guys back, etc rather than a true six-man rotation
November 20, 2025 at 2:58 AM
AA discusses how hard it is to go with a true six-man rotation because you're short in the pen and the first time you have a short start during a long stretch without an off day, "you're cooked". Said the "roster gymnastics" were challenging.

Sounds like they don't know if they'll do it this year
November 20, 2025 at 2:58 AM
He had other offers for the same money and chose to come back over those
November 20, 2025 at 2:55 AM
AA says that the to-do list is still shortstop, starter, bullpen - "we're very open" to deals in any of those areas, but they're not going to force anything.
November 20, 2025 at 2:53 AM
Yeah, it *feels* like they want to sign Kim or make some trade and use Dubón all over but he's explicitly not confirming that
November 20, 2025 at 2:51 AM
They like the fact that they're now protected at premium positions (shortstop, centerfield) and they're not limited on any acquisition they can make because he can play anywhere
November 20, 2025 at 2:47 AM
They touched bases with the Astros LAST SUMMER on a potential deal, so they've been targeting Dubón's skill set for a while. Deal finally came together today, but they've been doing legwork on him for a while
November 20, 2025 at 2:45 AM
When asked, AA says that they rather'd lead the market than trail the market, as they have more options and can find some value there
November 20, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Dubón was in Honduras when AA called him and told him that there's a LOT of Braves fans in the area.
November 20, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Elaborating here, AA confirms that Dubón's specific role is contingent on the rest of the offseason and how it plays out, but they think that his defensive flexibility and athleticism gives them a ton of options.

Specifically mentioned his ability to hit lefties, too
November 20, 2025 at 2:38 AM
On Dubón, they don't know what his role is going to be but value his flexibility (and they told him that when they spoke to him tonight)

They DO feel comfortable with him at shortstop and their internal data reinforces that
November 20, 2025 at 2:37 AM
On Iglesias: "We felt like we were going to want him back (at the trade deadline) and we always had intentions to bring him back."

They believe that keeping him at the deadline helped re-sign him so quickly.
