To read widely is to pay attention to whether, at minimum, you regularly read outside your genres, forms, and languages of preference, as well as work by writers with whom you do not share identities, communities, cultures, or places. It is often difficult to notice unwanted patterns in reading

These Siphonotid millipedes have absolutely no business being quite so adorable!

Don't be fooled by their cute faces, they're members of the 'Camphor' millipedes, so-named after their pungent defensive chemicals. A related millipede species in Panamá is a dietary source of toxins for poison frogs!🧪

Tom Nichols once spent 10 straight minutes blocking and unblocking me on Twitter because he couldn't decide whether to engage with me mocking his claim all Indian food sucks or feel like a victim over it, least serious person. The only topic you should want to hear from him on is his retirement
This is utterly trivial, but Tom Nichols once took to Twitter to make the cranky old man point that it's rude to say "No problem!" because this implies that there's a problem, forces him the customer to consider that his request even might possibly could have been one.

He is not a serious thinker.
Tom Nichols has the dumbest possible anti-Harris case

1. Harris is an unremarkable VP (unlike almost all of them except his buddy Dick Cheney)

2. She has low approval from racists

3. A batshit conspiracy theory he made up that people will believe Biden has been Harris’s stalking horse since 2020

After a massive public backlash, NYC's libraries are getting their funding back -- and will be open on Sundays again.

Take a bow, folks -- WE did this.
