They do not deserve a moment's peace
ICE agent recognized out Christmas shopping—throws tantrum when citizens profile him.

"We're trying to prevent you from kidnapping our neighbors," they say.

"I'm not doing anything but walking, leave me alone!" he yells.

"Not right now you're not—but the past 5 days you have."

look at how little effort it takes for someone on the conservative grievance circuit to destroy a life

millions of college kids have half assed an assignment at the last minute, you eat the F and move on

but the effort to push trans people out of public life will use whatever it can get
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

She launched her career trying to get professors fired in the name of academic freedom. Her website publishes a firehose of conservative propaganda in the name of open debate. She is now censoring factual information under the guise of journalistic accuracy.

White men—30% of US population!!—are CEOs at 72% of Fortune 500 companies, direct 83% of the movies made in the US, serve as 70% of US Senators, & on & on.

Their representation in key industries is at least double what their share of the pop predicts but it’s still not enough for them!

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean.

I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.
We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->

By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Thread of maps, some of which I took the liberty of uploading high quality versions of.
Whenever people want to justify the de facto single state reality of the occupied Palestinian territory I just show them maps like this and ask them what it means

If you're wondering what happened to Nate Silver, he was into the COVID lab leak theory and got negative feedback online, including from epidemiologists and virologists and (GASP!) posters, which added to his belief that The Woke are victimizing Nate Silver. It spiraled from there.

I'm not kidding.

A lot of right wing women are cited as heirs to Phyllis Schlafly, and in my opinion it’s often not a good fit. But Kirk has that uncanny quality that drove so much of Schlafly’s power and effectiveness: a depthless rage.

It will have to be a different party to do this, not the Democratic party.
It is important to promise, now, that whatever Trump builds at the White House will be torn down as soon as he leaves.

I'm really beginning to think that GOP legislators are not just indifferent to but actively detached from median consumer reality.

Their attitude has always been "fuck 'em," but I don't think they grasp the degree to which they're immediately fucking people, and the impact it will have
I do not understand why no one is talking about how much money is going to suddenly be missing from the consumer economy in starting in January. This is one of my...Am I Crazy....moments. Money sunk into higher insurance payments will not be spent on consumer goods, and this will happen quickly.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara to US citizen detained by ICE: "I apologize that this happened to you in my city with people wearing vests that say 'police.' That's embarrassing."

This headline isn't just *misleading*, this is a deliberate attempt to create a false narrative about life-saving medical care. Absolutely fucking disgusting.
You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

In many ways "I support a two-state solution" was just the de facto thought terminating cliche of the bipartisan consensus for the last thirty or so years. Its purpose was to stifle more substantive and direct conversation about the myriad ways in which USG policy impacts the conflict.
See for example a few months ago when the ranking Democrat on the Armed Services Committee said that he does not believe in recognizing the State of Palestine, but that he is still for two states. What exactly will the second state be?
This is, decidedly, a minority. The vast majority of both parties believe in a single state reality which they can obscure via their belief in a hypothetical partition.

This is so correct. When the AI bubble bursts, we're going to have to sit through so many CNN and Morning Joe panels where the same people who were pumping the military and police departments full of usefulness or dangerous AI will tell us what went wrong.
When this "AI" bubble pops, the men pretending they weren't pushing the hype, like "critics" whose position is "AGI is real but LLMs aren't the way," who were in eugenicist and "AI existential risk"🙄 circles, will get specials discussing what they saw coming, when its the women who told you so.

Given that the Sumud flotilla was approaching Palestinian, not Israeli waters, it is entirely up to the government of the State of Palestine whether they are allowed in. The UK recognises the State of Palestine. Ergo, the UK must demand that the Israelis respect its right to control its borders.

After MTG lied about me for weeks, she said that she felt bad for my unborn child because he'd have me as a mother. Her rhetoric led to threats against my family.

No one, even her, should receive threats like those, but I'd like to see her own up to the role she played in creating them for others.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I sent those deaths threats directly to him in a text message & informed him of what his name calling & words were doing - it was a direct assassination threat on my son. And he was extremely - I won't repeat what he said - but it was extremely unkind. No sympathy. No care"

In the era of slavery, free black people had to carry their "free papers" with them so they could prove to the authorities that they were free, or else they would be thrown in jail and sold.
BASH: If ICE says it doesn't arrest US citizens, why do we keep seeing incidents of them aggressively pursuing citizens?

HOMAN: I can't tell you how many times an illegal alien claims to be a US citizen. It happens all the time.
