i genuinely believe that well off blue state libs don't understand what it's like here bc why would they? the amount of people I've seen say something like " we basically have socialized medicine" and that's just not true in any sense.

people love to say " Medicaid will cover you!" and I promise you it doesn't in most red states! in Texas you need to be a parent, a senior, or disabled in some way to get it. there is no other way to qualify as a poor childless person, I've tried! i haven't been to a dr in 20 years

There are so many people living lives of quiet dignity despite horrific medical news or poverty or tragedy where every day they still wake up and try to be good people in the world even as the world pushes against them and it makes me even angrier at the absolute shitheads that rule over things

in my experience men will also say awful shit to another man they just met, unsolicited, with the full expectation of agreement. there was a period where Uber drivers would start expounding to me on the Evils of Women about eight minutes into an LAX run
I go to more places alone now (bars and restaurants) and unintentionally eavesdrop on a lot of conversations and I just gotta say that men say really weird shit to eachother when they think no one is listening
