If Google can't work out what a political ad is in order to comply with the new regulation, how can it possibly work out what a political ad is to reject it?
Google is withdrawing from the political ad market in the EU, blaming a lack of precision in the definition of a "political ad" in new EU regulations that come into force next year. This leaves Meta as an effective monopolist in the market.

Years of meetings, protests, petitions, emails, media coverage, meetings, official strategies, official declarations, “strong political consensus”… and the streets are as hostile as ever.

So the work goes on.

If not for them then for the next ones.

- “This is an issue that is blighting our region ... immediate and unwavering focus is needed,”

- the role will have “real purpose and meaning”
