BUYING OUR OWN PLAN IS WHAT THE ACA IS
Q: Are you going to unveil a healthcare plan?

TRUMP: I like my plan. Don't give money to the insurance companies, give it to people directly and let them go out and buy their own plan

Q: Are you planning to extend ACA subsidies?

T: I'd rather not but it may be necessary to get something else done

Reminds me of a classic marquee I saw as a kid circa 1979:

ALIEN
MEATBALLS
ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ
The matchup we've been waiting for.

Trump is at the Halloween party at MAL

“Official theme is Gatsby and ‘a little party never killed nobody’, we’re told.”

If you'll be watching 911 Nashville tonight (and normally, I wouldn't recommend it), my daughter plays one of the 4 sorority girls stuck in a fire. A few weeks ago she was in a concert crowd scene so she's basically a recurring character at this point.

We are in a timeline in which People Magazine is publishing legit hard-hitting news headlines while CBS and CNN publicly humiliate themselves.

I don’t like this timeline. But I’m loving People Magazine right now.

“If he wanted to do something he’d obey the law, just as Jesus obeyed the law.” Ah yes, Jesus, famously crucified by the authorities for obeying the law.
A Newsmax host defended ICE agents shooting a minister in the head with a pepper ball by falsely claiming he was “actually an antifa member masquerading as a pastor.”

At 56 years old I’m finally watching the African Queen with Bogart & Hepburn. Can’t believe I put it off this long.

it sure does seem to me like the problem with the response so far is too many people pretending Kirk was not immensely, unspeakably evil, and not too many people defending murder

evil people can get murdered and murder remains bad and evil remains bad what are we doing

Just realized I was born closer to World War I than to today. By several years. I need to go lie down.

I cannot stress enough how Elon Musk is arguably responsible for more poverty, disease, and hunger than any other living person due to his dismantling of USAID www.npr.org/sections/goa...
Study: 14 million lives could be lost due to Trump aid cuts
A new study looks at lives saved by USAID in the past and what the future without the agency will look like.

I have a story about this, but the tldr version is that our priest rushed through this part at our wedding b/c the day before, an acquaintance of my wife had called him with suspicion that I was a scammer who was coercing her into marriage. So he asked the question but did not pause for a response.
Has anyone actually ever been at a wedding where they ask the crowd if anybody objects? Is that a thing that at least used to happen, or was that just in movies? Because, you've gotta hand it to 'em, it is a VERY funny idea, having a readily available "Anybody wanna ruin this?" button.

Mike Johnson: "God miraculously saved the president's life -- I think it's undeniable -- and he did it for an obvious purpose. His presidency and his life are the fruits of divine providence. He points that out all the time and he's right to do so."

One summer in the late 80's I managed a local video store and watched this movie on the store monitors at least 25 times over the course of the summer.

It does boggle the mind how politicians claim we don’t have enough money to feed the hungry, house the unhoused, or provide healthcare, but there is always money for bombs.

The Medicaid bullshit is driving me up a wall. We’re going to kick a million people off of healthcare who are not overwhelming the system, they aren’t at fault for any reason the economy is fucked, Medicaid isn’t “going broke” or in need of fixing, no problem is being solved, just deathcult bullshit
