Now if only @support.bsky.team would come up with a way to remove ourselves from lists. At least on the cesspool, if we blocked the list’s originator, we could get off the list.

Just followed a person whose political takes I completely agree with, only to discover that they've blocked me.

I'm interested to learn what prompted this action, mostly because they're depriving me of advancing their arguments, but also to discover what message I'm sending.

“ …those who relate to others as though they are not worthy of respect ought to be treated with the regard that orientation deserves.”
The death of shame and its consequences, especially for public figures, is a huge reason why we are in this place as a country. Shame as a concept is imperfect and can be abused, but we should absolutely be able to say that people with horrific, hateful beliefs must be made pariahs.

they do oppose the CA midcycle redistricting (& they also opposed the Texas one) - which is consistent if not very awake to the fascist threat. members should probably tell the org what they think!

but it's really good that they're not part of the mailer action

One of the benefits of private browsing is getting to see ads for objects I'd never encounter otherwise, such as the Acquity UPLC Chromatography tool, which separates substances based on their differing affinities for a stationary and mobile phase. It's my personal (free!) version of Stumble Upon.

On days like this I find it so hard to reconcile our human actions with the almost impossible odds that we exist at all. I wish we treasured and valued each other. I wish we realized there’s more than enough for everyone. That we belong to each other, we need each other. That we are all we have.

As someone who has worked counter-influence on the DOD side, this is an excellent 🧵!!!! If you're curious as to the empirical theory behind what @asharangappa.bsky.social is describing, it is techniques of neutralization & drift.
🧵I think it’s important to understand what disinformation like Sen. Mike Lee’s tweets are trying to do, psychologically/cognitively. In my disinfo class/Substack, I talk about how disinfo often uses “moral disengagement strategies” to manipulate people into accepting harmful conduct 1/
