Roachkind overview:
Thousands of years in the future, a calamity of disputed origin leads every human, as well as most living beings, to extinction. The apparent exception to nature’s fate is the upright walkin,’ seein,’ hearin,’ and speaking species of the now world-dominant Roachkind!

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

Since some of y'all are pretending that your dictionary is down: Political violence is violence which is perpetrated to achieve political goals. Most often it entails the state mobilizing against people, abroad or at home.

I don't understand why a "dog and pony" show is supposed to be a bad thing. Like dogs AND ponies? In the same show? Honestly, that sounds like the perfect thing to take my mind off the systemic disenfranchisement of nevermind I get it

I hate how the system for getting any kind of disability, financial, or community support punishes people who have difficulty navigating it for the very reasons they need support.

The sheer number of phone calls I need to make while dealing with homelessness is so overwhelming.

Wage garnishment for people living precariously hand to mouth is state-sanctioned violence.

People took loans at 18 with the promise they would lead to jobs that would allow for repayment. Instead, they allowed lenders to profit as wages stagnated.

Why are borrowers, not lenders, on the hook?

This is really small, but I'm so grateful the new King of the Hill is great. Feels like watching old friends. I'm also glad they made Hank bewildered instead of bigoted. He's trying to understand how his Texas changed so rapidly, but he meets that friction with curiosity instead of fear and anger.
