Tonight was the inaugural ride of our new home buyout program. We connect with vendors too scared to be out, and we purchase from them at home. Tonight we bought 250 tamales, divided into 3 teams to deliver all over the city to folks on the street, Love Fridges, and a youth shelter.

Treasury is required to produce a report to Congress related to Direct File, the free tax filing option that the current administration intends to kill. They've created a survey with a bunch of leading questions. The survey deserves some responses supportive of the program to counteract its framing:

There are a couple of kids in my nephews's class who weren't born in the US, and the class has decided (w/o teacher input) that if ICE shows up in they're all going to pretend not to speak English. 10yos reinventing "I am Spartacus" because they don't want their friends to get disappeared.

Trump has blown his credibility on the economy, which means he’s going to lean even harder into immigration. Kilmar being wrongly deported is a huge risk to that. That’s why they can’t admit they made a mistake. They don’t want to bring him home because they’re afraid of what he will tell people.
