The Odyssey is one of the world’s most inspiring and enduring stories of a man voyaging for years powered solely by the indomitable spirit of human will and a deep suspicion that his wife is getting railed by those guys in town

"what is their obsession with trans people even about" cuz trans people are the free-est motherfuckers on earth! they don't want the rest of y'all getting any ideas about having control over your own fucking destiny!!
This is entirely true on so many levels I don't think I could possibly detail it exhaustively, but you really can't oppose trans people's human rights and still have freedom of expression and bodily autonomy, the idea that people are entitled to self determination goes right out the window....
Being nice to trans people really did turn out to be a load bearing part of liberal democracy ey

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

Sinners is so dense with characters that they have to resort to shorthand in order to convey information about their personalities. I like how they do it with Sammy. You know he's cool because he eats pussy good.

Someone in my life has a similar health issue with a semi popular alternative person that we both follow online. That person recently took a turn for the worst and I'm really trying hard not to think about it but I am thinking about a lot of things and I am really scared haha

When I see a book ad with lists of tropes and character intros, I feel like I'm being focus grouped at. It's so corporate, it's so flat. No vision, nothing specific or idiosyncratic, just repeated overtures to how relatable and familiar the work is.
