I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

For many years I have been posting little observations online. What you may not know is that for many years, artists have been illustrating them - for no reason other than they wanted to respond. Below is a thread of some of these beautiful drawings because they should be seen 🧵

The horror.
A TKC listener gets in touch re our section on old cookbooks from the 80s. This delight comes their copy of the Woman’s Own cookbook, circa 1964. Simpler times.

I've got a huge pile of art to ink up, so I thought I'd get in the zone by doing one of my occasional "just for fun" pages... and to get some of that weird imagery out of my head and onto the paper. One day I'm going to collect all these in a book.

I always enjoy reading the TripAdvisor London Forum because I'm fascinated to see what foreign tourists expect, what they ask about and what surprises them. I thought this post from someone from Texas was a really lovely and cheering comment about riding the tube late at night

OK Mrs/Mr/Ms/Mx Harris. It's good of you to give me an opportunity to explain the physics of the radiation emitted by "highly enriched Uranium". In order to do this properly, I have to explain some of the concepts and units of measurement that are relevant.

Perhaps the best parenting advice I’ve read:
From an entirely different perspective (I'm guessing), I get the nobility of the idea here: love is sacrifice. But if your children grow up seeing you always unhappy, slavishly going through the motions of parenthood, taking no joy or enjoyment from life, that negativity WILL imprint upon them.

The FT conducted extensive interviews with Metreweli and her senior female SIS colleagues for this piece three years ago on the top women spies at MI6. To protect her identity, Metreweli chose the pseudonym 'Ada' for the story (free to read)

Absolutely surreal to have lived through the Napster days and watched as the titans of industry moved hell and high water to lock down any possible chance that someone's song might get swapped online without giving the studios a cut and now those same people are just like "well we gotta steal music"
