It does feel to me like “Why is Britain facilitating a genocide that’s being imposed by a child sex criminal, just because he’s America’s emperor” is going to be problematic, historically.

So, just to confirm, the BBC can’t keep Robin Ince on the air because his trans allyship brings the organisation into disrepute, but they can keep David Walliams, who performed Nazi salutes at the recording of this very show, on the air despite him being predatory towards women. Cool. Very normal.

On the subject of BBC bias, I’d just say that I’m pretty sure they haven’t had the same kind of conversation with regular contributor Sharron Davies that they’ve had with Robin outlined below.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Worried about rising bills and getting by? Keir Starmer has the answer: try chewing a flag! | Aditya Chakrabortty
The PM wants to talk about patriotism when the issue that is really affecting people is the cost of living. If he doesn’t wise up, that dissonance will sink him, says Guardian columnist Aditya Chakrabortty

Techbros are really a danger to us all.
Larry Ellison envisions a surveillance state in which techbros rule. '“Citizens will be on their best behavior, because we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on,” Ellison said in an hour-long Q&A during Oracle’s Financial Analyst Meeting last week.'

And, beyond that, it amazes me that government after government shows no interest in tackling lobbying.

At the most fundamental level, wealthy people, companies and industries buying - through donations or gifts - preferential access to power is completely undemocratic.

It is simply corruption.

Why is Keir Starmer commenting on the assassination of a far-right commentator and activist in an entirely different country? This is like if Trump gave a big speech about someone from a UK left-wing Youtube channel if they were killed. Starmer didn't comment on the death of Melissa Hortman.

It really is wild how the US right has spent a decade hallucinating insane conspiracies about secret cabals of prominent lib politicians and Hollywood celebs abusing kids in pizza restaurants, and then threw everything behind Donald Trump, the most heavily incriminated man in Epstein’s black book.
I don't think this creepy Jeffrey Epstein cartoon is depicting him molesting girls at his Caribbean property. I think it is someplace else.

It was the transition into fantasy politics. Probably happened a bit earlier with the Tories managing to blame the global crash on Labour spending too much money on Sure Start centres or whatever, but once politics was adrift from reality, anything can happen really.
