every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

CK's schtick at his height was "I share your decency, audience, but I will admit things to you that you can't admit to yourself." His schtick now is "I share your depravity, audience, and I will tell you things that flatter you."

Even setting aside not wanting to support him for jacking off in front of people, I feel like the fact that he did it undercut the entire concept of Louis CK as a comedian: that he was a man with repulsive thoughts and urges, but who had attained the self-knowledge that comes with recognizing them
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)

It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Long Island deserves a Representative who fights for working families and stands up to Trump’s attacks. Meanwhile, Andrew Garbarino can’t even wake up to vote.

I'm running for Congress because I know we can fight our way out of this. Be a day 1 donor: secure.actblue.com/donate/garre...

it's unusual for me to say "believe in the guy talking about insane clown posse" but he is a person who Gets It and understands what's at stake for NY-2. let's finish the political groundwork that liuba grechen shirley laid here
Magnetism aside, ICP has been right much more than they've been wrong in this very strange time we live in.
Reminder that Violent J of Insane Clown Posse has the correct response to a lot of the shitty things he said in the early days.

The key thing about toxic fans is this: they lowkey despise the team for not winning every time and letting them live vicariously through that

There’s an essay to be written about how maga patriotism is just shitty fandom. Anyone who follows sports knows fans like this, it’s always the ref’s fault, the other team doesn’t exist, there’s some plot/player/coach holding the team back otherwise they’d always win easy bsky.app/profile/atru...
Trump: "The problem with Vietnam, we, you know, we stopped fighting to win. We would've won easy. We would've won Afghanistan easy. We would've won every war easy. But we got politically correct. 'Oh, let's take it easy.' We're not politically correct anymore, just so you understand."

This is better than most Dems are doing right now, but the language still sucks: "authoritarianism" is a word meaning "the government will do something bad in the future", but the actual word this scenario describes is "murder"
Priztker: if federal agents fired upon journalists and protesters, when unprovoked, what would we call it?

I don't think we'd have any trouble calling it what it is. Authoritarianism.

So let's not pretend it's something else when it happens in our American cities.
