Unnecessary, unwelcome, unworkable and uncalled for. The EHCR having to leak its own guidance to a client paper tells you all you need to know. This is unworkable and businesses can not afford it. It would increase hostility and conflict and ultimately require everyone to have a genital ID card.

Ukraine is on the brink of an historic betrayal by Trump to Putin.

Keir Starmer must bring our European allies together to back Zelensky, starting by seizing frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

You couldnt make it up. Countries enforcing race or gender diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies will now be at risk of the Trump administration deeming them as infringing on human rights.

Thank you, @joshbabarinde.bsky.social for pressing the government on today's appalling leaked EHRC proposals. It is both sickening and predictable that they should leak on Transgender Day of Remembrance. Thank you for committing the @libdems.org.uk to standing up for our rights.

Boris Johnson's inept handling of Covid demonstrates why electorates living in normal times should vote for governments as if they were living in times of emergency.

Never presume you can vote for unserious people on the assumption that they will never have to make serious decisions.

UK Covid Inquiry concludes: 23,000 deaths could've been prevented if the March 2020 lockdown had been imposed just a week earlier.

No mistake by any prime minister in living memory has caused so many deaths in the UK.

The tragic and catastrophic price of Boris Johnson's incompetence & negligence.

The news that a national lockdown could have been avoided is shattering. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who lost loved ones during the pandemic.

Kemi Badenoch should apologise on behalf of the Conservative Party. This tragedy must never be repeated.

This is very good indeed on how Mahmood talks about race. To suggest that immigration policy and racism are linked "reflects this government’s biggest failing, which is that it is essentially incapable of saying that racism is wrong, full stop".

Interesting and informative thread.
NEW: Labour inherited public services in crisis. Performance had fallen, investment had been cut + spending plans were undeliverable.

It's made some progress, providing stability and positive long-term plans. But it has been undermined by poor prep in opposition and lack of co-ordination in govt 🧵
