Tump's denial of climate change & refusal to deploy renewables has led directly to the the illegal removal of a foreign head of state & a plan to run a sovereign nation for the sole purposes of getting contracts signed to gain commercial control their heavy crude oil to supply American refineries.

Trump is acting with impunity in Venezuela, sending a dangerous signal that leaders can be removed by force.

The PM must call an emergency UN Security Council meeting.

Why is Donald Trump so interested in Venezuela's oil?

US is the world's biggest oil producer by a country mile - but that's light crude oil, meaning it is still totally dependent on trade to meet its demands for heavy oil. And that brings us to Venezuela

Keir Starmer should condemn Trump’s illegal action in Venezuela.

Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe.

Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.

ICYMI this is a very impressive article from BBC News, who downloaded NESO data from their API and performed their own analysis.

Record year for wind and solar electricity in Great Britain in 2025
Wind, solar and other renewables hit a new high last year but the government is still some way off its clean power target.

Very good explainer on AI energy use, lack of reporting, & ideas put forward by IEA on how AI could be used to generate energy efficiencies to offset usage. I have raised these issues in Parliament particular in amendments to the Planning Bill. We need an ambition to make AI carbon neutral by 2030.

Critical moments now in Ukrainian conflict. Nuclear blackmail must always fail. NATO unity, planning & resolve shows clarity against unacceptable treats. There will be more dangerous ahead as Putin runs out of credible options, lacks credible restraints on his power & retains unarchivable ambitions
