Woodpigeon is a familiar species to most of us. Not everyone knows that thousands of Woodpigeons migrate south each year over the UK during late October and November. This is especially noticeable in southern England. @btobirds.bsky.social @jncc.bsky.social @rspbscience.bsky.social

Strengthening #SpillResponse in the Maldives 🌊

UK funded JNCC & Ambipar supported a key workshop in Malé validating the updated Maldives Oil & HNS Contingency Plan.

We also collaborated with ERA Maldives & Maldives National Defence Force through regional sessions to boost adoption & awareness.

Although showing an overall UK increase since the mid-1990s, Blackbird is declining in some areas. London and southeast England are two such areas; Usutu Virus is thought to be a contributing factor to this. @btobirds.bsky.social @jncc.bsky.social @rspbscience.bsky.social #Ornithology
