When I saw this story I didn't believe it's true but I like it.

A yachtsman got into difficulty and radioed the coastguard for help.

COASTGUARD: What is your position?
YACHTSMAN: I'm finance director at a textiles company.

The content of 22,000 predominantly right-wing accounts is pushed to new Twitter accounts by Musk's algorithm. More than half of the political content came from accounts that used hateful or extreme language.

Government bodies, MPs, unions ..they all need to shut down their accounts.
Incredible piece of data research and reporting on the undeniable biased and intentionally manipulated X algorithm.

The article talks about how it influences the visibility of prominent, powerful political parties.

Now think about how it impacts already marginalised & targeted trans people! 😣

The 1982 documentary series Police, about the Thames Valley force, is remembered for officers' appalling handling of a rape victim. This recent Panorama shows that nothing has changed - or it did, but they've reverted to neanderthal level. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
300 people tell BBC of police misogyny and racism after undercover investigation
Following a BBC undercover investigation, many describe incidents of domestic violence and sexual abuse being dismissed by officers across England.

To all in & around #Inverness who see this, please sign this petition to save the Spectrum Centre. It's been a great hub for the community, providing space for events, classes, kids activities, the cafe, & is much missed since its recent sudden closure. We need it back.

reposting with alt text because this feels incredibly significant. the right-wing disinfo machine means a lot of the people grieving Charlie Kirk never heard any of the things he said that would have tarnished his brand as Guy Who Just Wants to Have Dialogue Across the Aisle

@thecatreviewer.bsky.social Beautifully coloured chap, very vocal - before filming, wouldn't shut up, much miaow-purring "breeow", rolled around ON THE KERB if you please, then jumped up at the merest tap on the wall. Note braced paw deployment. Went all tranquil, heard a bird, forgot we existed.

I went past a wall topped with ornate metal railings that were very melodramatically crying. I realised it was an overwrought iron fence.

I love #Radiohead but the 6Music feature with Yorke & Donwood about the HTTT artwork & playing some of the live tracks is making me cringe at how bad his voice is in these recordings, really wobbly. And I'm reminded how tedious We Suck Young Blood was. But some of the interview chat is interesting.

Even as a kid I was bored by excited news items about panda couples and whether they were going to fuck. It's one of my most prominent news memories from the 70s and 80s along with the phrases "The conciliation service Acas" and "The soviet news agency Tass..."
