I think Starmer would be this way regardless of media double standards re politicians’ behaviour. It’s who he is & the restoration of trust is, for him, a matter of national interest. You have to hope it also crystallises into a real reputation for probity & integrity. But it’s far from guaranteed.

Matthew Hancock made the judgement that an unknown number of health care workers would die or health care, and retirement homes would collapse. It's an agnosingly hard decision he'll have to live with. The moral cowardice to evade owning that call...it should haunt him for the rest of his life.
