Also this is just a bonkers take-- It took about 20 minutes for the show to entirely end human society, and gathered people from five continents for an international summit in hour two. Lost took two seasons to advance the plot half this far
if pluribus isn't your thing it isn't your thing but i find it very funny seeing the specific crimes of "it's too slow/methodical" being levelled at it like mike ehrmantraut didn't take an entire car apart and put it back together

Oh hey! My guest spot at one of the Dickheads Podcast's weekly #PKD Hangouts earlier this year is now available. We talked about Gray Barker, Philip K. Dick's Exegesis, and Dick's interactions with UFO culture.
Okay, we are months behind on posting the interviews from the live Tuesday night PKD hangouts. They are coming out now. Subscribe to Dickheads Podcast on YouTube. In this episode, Gabriel McKee discusses his book, The Sausarian.

Just learned that the interlocutor for this will be Greg Bishop, whose "Project Beta" is probably the most important UFO-related book of the century so far... And who was a good friend of Jim Moseley's to boot!

"Punishment Park" continues to haunt-- especially in the last 10 months or so.
RIP Peter Watkins. "the war game" is better known, but "punishment park" remains brutally prescient. no firewall

Read to the end, the last line is a doozy
@drewmagary.bsky.social took Elon Musk's feeble Wikipedia knock off for a test drive so the rest of us don't have to.

Naturally, what he found there in the muck and mire will not surprise you.

building a Dyson sphere around the sun is an incomprehensible undertaking. building one around the solar system is simply impossible in even the wildest sci fi projections of the future

every statement Altman and his fellow tech oligarchs make is just as preposterous
