Wonderfully stupid best line. "Trust me, there is always a reason to kill someone."
A ★★★★ review of The Naked Gun (2025)
This was far better than I expected. Of course, it was stupid but it was supposed to be. Liam was perfect, Anderson had her jazz scene, I laughed plenty. That is all that matters.

I have about 20 pages left in the edits for the sequel to this book. I went to the James Cameron philosophy. Bigger and more emotional. Change the genre slightly while upping the stakes of the things that worked.Lots of dead nazis, the consequences of Nazi terror and much more spy craft.

Didn't need to be two and half hours long but my favorite of the knives out trilogy. I laughed a lot.
A ★★★★ review of Wake Up Dead Man (2025)
Certainly my favorite Knives out movie. The first 30 minutes were very funny. Interesting that Blanc didn't show up until 39 minutes in. Jeffrey Wright was awesome in about 45 seconds of screentime. T...

So...I might be biased right now as I am editing a novel that takes place at the same time. Shannon and Crowe steal the show. The message is on the nose, I wish it was needed. IT can happen here. MAGA folks should see it, but I don't think they would get it.
A ★★★★★ review of Nuremberg (2025)
I might be currently biased as I am editing a final draft of a novel set at the same time, very close to the subject, but honestly. This is a great and important drama, while the message is a bit on t...

A WW II mission movie I had never seen. last 35 minutes carry the movie, with enough dead nazis to earn another star in the ratings.
A ★★★★ review of Against the Wind (1948)
I graded this on a bit of a curve, this is a WW II men on a mission movie I had never seen. I mean 3 years after the war...A team infiltrates occupied Paris to free a prisoner. The last half an hour i...

The Craig era Bond re-watch continues slowly. The biggest problem with this one was how the action was shot.
A ★★★★ review of Quantum of Solace (2008)
I really enjoyed the story of this Bond film while re-watching all the Craig era. Funny some might accuse this movie of being woke, with Bond as your lead that of course is impossible. The problem com...

Really good low-budget character-driven SF film. The world-building is really subtle and well done. Very Dickian themes.
A ★★★★★ review of The Assessment (2024)
In the low-budget SF film that stays away from society to keep the budget down...this is an excellent entry. Great cli-fi with excellent world-building themes and performances. There is many themes ad...

Watched this movie by the director of High Noon about a Spanish war vet lured back to Spain by his dying mother. Gregory Peck plays Spanish with the same effort he brings to Greek or British roles, as in he doesn't try.
A ★★★ review of Behold a Pale Horse (1964)
Somehow missed this one from the director of High Noon, one of the weak links is Gregory Peck playing Spanish exactly how British by just being Gregory Peck. Interesting story of a Spanish war vet who...
