PKD Hangout Tuesday!!! August 12th, the legendary Charles Platt! He is a British Science fiction author, journalist, and computer programmer. His novels include Silicon Man, among others. his Dreammakers a two volume series in which he interviewed everyone in SF, including Philip K. Dick.

One of the pivotal scenes of Man in the High Castle takes place on a park bench iChina town’s Portsmouth Square. We took the ferry.David Gill read us the scene. We saw the restaurant where Phil took 2nd wife on their first date. Walked China town. We really shook the pillars of heaven. #philipkdick

n PKD’s classic novel Dr. Bloodmoney the survivors of the atomic war in West Marin gather here at Foresters hall to listen to Walt Dangerfield transmit a radio signal stuck in orbital. Foresters Hall is like 90 feet from Phil and Kleo’s first house in Marin.

We parked near Anne Dick’s old House. PKD lived here about 1960-1964. He rented a shack he called the hovel, a short walk around two corners. We did the walk he took to write.

Just finished the sequel to Last Night to Kill Nazis. 70,000 words. In weird coincidence the next published novel Great America in Dead World is officially out tomorrow. Still hiding the full title of Next Night.

My 11th novel Great America in Dead World comes out in July but I have arcs. This philosophical Sci fi novel was an experiment in writing a novel using the PKD formula as he laid it out in a 1964 letter. If you want to write articles, cover on a podcast or write an honest review DM me.

Reading this 65 year old copy of this novel written in 2nd century AD. Often called the first SF novel it is 💯 bizarro. The first story takes place on island in Atlantic Ocean more than a thousand years before Columbus.
