These billionaire owned right wing rags do not have this country’s best interests at heart. They are owned and run by tax exiles who do not have any of their own opportunities and living standards affected by the division and economic damage they continue to promote in this country.
It’s exactly this kind of dismal, prejudiced bollox from the Daily Mail that’s got us into the ruinous Brexit mess we’re in. What a moronic response to us rejoining Erasmus and all the benefits that brings. If they’re really worried about cost, they should push to cancel Brexit altogether.

Oh dear Chris. And BBC.

Think we’ll all go with the OBR official, rather than you and your unprofessional biased nonsense.

Feel free to issue an apology and have a bit of a think. Maybe about the years of barely scrutinised *Tory* policies that got us into this mess.

have written that piece before but there's a whole lot of "oh wow this generation of kids are fucked" and nowhere near enough "huh what exactly have that generation of parents been doing and how can we not do that, going forward"
People are very hard on young people on here, lack of critical thinking, lack of responsibility etc, and then you see something like this and it all makes a different kind of sense.

You know what I’d love to see more than a wealth tax? No second jobs for PMs.

VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.
November 10, 2025 at 1:43 PM
The #BBC needs to be completely independent, no politics should be aligned with it.

Its drop in news and editorial standards is a consequence of the previous 14 years, aligning with the government(s) of the day.

It’s a public broadcast and it should serve the public only. Impartial and truthful.

Salk's act was altruism. A better example is WWI: the US nationalized Marconi's patents and assigned to GE to ensure unified military communications. This led to the NBC networks monopoly that was later broken up to restore competition. Socialism is an essential part of healthy government.

Horrid reporting from all news outlets.

It’s only thanks to people like Emma that the facts are heard.
Wow - those are quite phenomenal headlines given the details of the story.

Ahh look, he’s just a ‘nerdy’ guy. No harm done.

You need to scroll down to paragraph 13 of the Sky piece to find the full story!

They lie about the ECHR.
Just like they lied about Brexit. Claiming if we just got rid of that ‘European’ thing, we’d be free, we’d have control, all our problems solved…
It’s NOT TRUE.
We’d inflict more chaos on ourselves and torch our own human rights framework for NOTHING.
For liars.
Again.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.
