We loved dine-in theaters when the kids were little. But maintenance was never good, attendance never recovered from COVID due to lifestyle & tech shifts, and frankly, few U.S. movies seem worth watching. We watch mostly K Dramas now.

I hate when I have high-cognitive load design work at the day job--it eats up reserves for writing at lunch.

Not to pop anyone's balloons, but I feel it important to note that the presence in an FBI file of a witness claim against a famous person is not the same thing as a proven fact. It's not nothing, but it's far from a slam dunk.

After fixing my diet— lower carbs, more fiber—foods like donuts leave me feeling almost hungover. Turns out, improved insulin sensitivity+lower baseline inflammation means refined carbs hit harder. A healthy body rejects unhealthy inputs.

2/2 Lysenko wasn’t malicious, just confidently wrong and powerful. If you don't see this in Robert F. Kennedy Jr's disregard for science, cherry-picked claims, and trust in intuition, suspicion, and ideology over evidence, you aren't paying attention. And you may be one of the casualties.

1/2 In the USSR, Lysenko rejected genetics in favor of ideology. Stalin backed him because it was politically useful and promised quick results without blaming the system. Those who spoke out were silenced. Agriculture collapsed. Tens of millions STARVED TO DEATH.

I just spent 40 seconds prepping my generator in case of power loss tonight. This setup has proven reliable, simple, and extremely economical. cstuarthardwick.com?s=generator

Watergate was on every day when I was in preschool. Even then it was clear GOP faithful wanted to support their man but loved their country too much to do it. WTF happened to that America?

The contest is, sadly but not unpredictably, receiving a lot more AI generated stories this year. We can tell, and I foresee imposition of a lifetime ban.

Under the UCMJ, service members are required to refuse manifestly unlawful orders and protected when refusing such orders.

But the key phrase is "manifestly unlawful".
