I've made the point in the past that Trump's support is based on a coalition of disordered counterpublics which distrust institutions, such as anti-vaxxers, Pizzagate truthers, and the like. Their primary loyalty is to their individual causes, not Trump, and this is the coalition fracturing.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I do support him and his administration ... his remarks of course have been hurtful ... unfortunately it has all come down to the Epstein files ... I will continue to do my small part to get the files released."

An embarrassingly obvious point, but...

This. Is. Illegal.

If anything like the rule of law were in force, Trump couldn't arbitrarily increase a tariff because he is annoyed.

In important and increasing ways, the rule of law in the US no longer exists.

On a deadly serious note, the President cannot rely on external, private sources to fund spending as an end-run around Congress’ constitutional power of the purse. If he can, we no longer have a republic.

When the president is destroying national landmarks, murdering fishermen, raising prices because he's angry over a Reagan video, and kidnapping parents in front of their crying children is probably not an ideal time to have a lazy, completely incompetent legislative branch perpetually on vacation.

Extremely magnanimous of johnson to do everything in his power to prevent the release of the totally exculpatory epstein files, all to prevent democrats from embarrassing themselves. Truly a leader for all americans
Mike Johnson: "Suddenly now, they've somehow convinced themselves that the Epstein files will be damaging to President Trump and Republicans in some way that they've imagined, and so they feign outrage."

No Kings couldn't have gone better - massive turnout, no violence, and it drove Trump so crazy his response was "Kings are good and I poop on everyone." Best of all was the effect on the millions of participants and everyone watching.

No Kings was a huge success. Just look at Trump's response.
Turnout was enormous. There was no violence. And the wannabe king is triggered.

The Trump ethos is very much ”foreigners suck, go USA,“ so proTrump people will cheer any sneering at or insulting of foreigners, whether they are allies or not, because they have such a juvenile concept of the world.

Not for the first time, I’ll point out that the president doesn’t understand how the global economy works
Trump is still misrepresenting the Japan investment. It is not like a "signing bonus." It is NOT our money.

I don't think he's lying. I think he is deluded.

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it.

- Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders.

- Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Not to be too pro technocrat, but it is astounding how much this country depended on the selflessness of like a few hundred thousand highly educated public servants who, for peanuts, made sure our food and medicine and environment etc were safe. And in return these servants were demonized.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?
