Yep. Prestige podcasting is dying for the same reason as the rest of the media: Pontificating is cheap and reporting is expensive.

The NIH’s 2024 budget of just under $37B generated $95B in economic activity in 2024 alone. 99.4% of new pharmaceuticals approved from 2010-2019 came from NIH-funded research. I’m hard pressed to think of anything that generates as much direct economic benefit as our NIH did before they destroyed it
TAPPER: 14 Republicans say you're risking undermining critical research by holding up NIH funding

VOUGHT: If they were a company, their stock price would in shambles. They in some respects caused the pandemic. You have an entire institute that does nothing more than DEI research at the NIH.

Is it just the general population here is as tedious and boring as me?

People assume Andrew Cuomo is tough and A Fighter because he always looks angry and acts weird. Mistaking a total lack of emotional self-regulation and wild, self-destructive spite for Masculine Strength is one of the defining political errors to me. No one even tries to keep it together anymore.

Dems in disarra-

*puts finger to ear*

I’m sorry, we’re getting some confusing news here
this is incredible. Mike Johnson might not have the votes for speaker, and if House Republicans can't find someone else they might not be able to certify Trump's Electoral College victory.

lol

Congress Has the Opportunity to Do the Funniest Thing Ever
The Speaker election looks tight. The presidential election certification is just days away. Could Republicans impose their own January 6th through sheer obstinacy?

This is an incredible testament to the loss of local news coverage. A congresswoman disappeared for six months and no one noticed.
A U.S. Congresswoman disappeared for the last six months of her term. Nobody noticed.

Turns out she's in a memory care unit, & her staff (and apparently other people?) covered it up (though she was somehow propped up for an event a month ago?)

Two Very Different Manhattan Murder Investigations

This is how to do it, kids: Home insurance is now a climate story. Put it on the front, and put "climate change" at the top. Especially now that deniers will control the federal and state government.

feel like we'd all be better off if every journalist was given one of those sound effects keychains and one button played a guy saying "i'm obligated to be objective, not to pretend i'm however stupid i'd need to be for your statements to sound credible" and mash that every time they hear this shit
When I pointed out that Scott Jennings' job is to serve as a pro-Trump pundit, Soon-Shiong replied, "You just said is his job is to defend Donald Trump. Did you find that in his job description with CNN? I don't know if you know that as a fact."
