I used to think that a global pandemic might be the one thing that could get people to put their differences aside and see that we need to work together for a common good.

Yes, I hear now how naive that sounds.

Seeing how people ACTUALLY reacted basically destroyed my faith in humanity.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

The important takeaway is not whether MTG has been redeemed. She hasn't. She's still a nut.

That said, MTG has publicly split from Trump. This is a big deal. Now that she has done it, others will find it easier to do so. Trump's base of support is fracturing.

I think there’s this thing people do where when they imagine a 15 year old they think of the 25 year old who would play them on tv. Actual 15 year olds look like children.

American Exceptionalism is a lie that keeps a country's citizens complacent. There is nothing great about a country that has great wealth, yet so many go hungry. There is nothing great about a country that will jail the poor for minor offenses, yet elevate wealthy pedophiles to the Presidency.

The sheer amount of plastic decorations and seasonal tat that shops are full of as we move seamlessly from Halloween to Christmas makes me so anxious. Where do people put this stuff after? Surely they dump most of it. It’s getting worse not better

Starbucks’ CEO makes 6,666x what the average @sbworkersunited.org barista does. It would take less than one day of sales to finalize a fair contract.

Baristas at Starbucks corporate stores nationwide are on strike to fight this corporate greed and get the fair contract they deserve.

I would be utterly thrilled to rid the Democratic Party of everyone who was pals with Jeffrey fucking Epstein

why exactly would I want a child abuser to make government policy
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

Yesterday, when Bovino announced ICE would be returning to Little Village today, some of us donated and fundraised to buy out street vendors in the neighborhood. This morning, volunteers hit the streets at 6:30 am, looking for vendors to buy out. Tamales make an excellent breakfast.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

me yesterday: look, Chuck Schumer is an incompetent dipshit, but somehow he’s played the shutdown semi-functionally because his opponents are even stupider

today: you fool, you idiot, Chuck Schumer has only appeared vaguely competent because his caucus actively revolted

should have known better
SCOOP: Schumer was more involved than reported with the attempted cave on the government shutdown. The Gang of 8 Senate Dems had his approval & he was getting daily updates.
In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.
