37 states have passed legislation specifically granting sales tax exemptions for data centers.

Among the beneficiaries of these exemptions are Amazon, Meta and Google, all companies worth over $1 trillion.

If you want a weird but true fact to talk about:

Dexter Holland, lead singer of The Offspring, was instrumental in this. His doctorial thesis in molecular biology was sequencing mRNA in HIV. The paper was also heavily cited in creating the COVID-19 vaccine.
It feels like we should be making a bigger deal of “we actually did in fact find a cure for AIDS”

Evidence is growing that some HIV-infected infants, if given antiretroviral drugs early in life, are able to suppress their viral loads to undetectable levels and then come off the medicine. www.wired.com/story/the-fi...

I've had the privilege and pleasure of working with a number of Nigerian lab professionals as well as folks from many other countries. There's so much to learn about the world, it's beautiful customs, music, and food. Come to Canada and make our country a better, kinder place. Well done, Chidinma.

I want a Jurassic Park where the dinos unionize and go on strike for better working conditions and the plot engine is building solidarity with park workers and visitors rather than falling into the class-war trap laid out for them by the capitalist owners seeking to exploit their primeval instincts.

For the last few days, I've been amusing myself watching the survivalist and prepper stuff on YT.

I've arrived at one conclusion:

We are living in the dumbest, most frightened timeline in history. And there are people out there who exploit that ignorance and fear to the absolute maximum.

My favorite British pronunciation is for the word that's a slightly less offensive synonym to the one they bray all over the place and that they pronounce to rhyme with "cat" and Americans pronounce to rhyme with "cot."
For the 379th time: Brits don’t pronounce aluminum “aluminium”; they pronounce aluminium “aluminium.”

lol I was watching this from-the-stands perspective on TikTok of the Winnipeg Jets’ winning OT goal and only realized near the very end it’s the PREMIER of Manitoba filming it and going nuts with his buddy 😅😅

Almost impossible to overcome a 20+ point political deficit in a span of 3 months.

Almost impossible for a party to win a fourth consecutive term in power.

Almost impossible for a sitting opposition leader to lose his own seat in his own riding.

All those things happened last night.

Wild.

I love our elections #cdnpoli
The paper ballots. The cardboard ballot boxes. The poll workers who really just want to help make it possible for you to vote. The temp hires at Elections Canada who count things up. The media reminders to go vote before polls close.
It’s all great and too fragile.

The Conservative plan is out and, ooof, is this costing a disaster.

There's a whole bunch of phantom revenues booked here, and the GST housing pledge is costed at under $2B. Given their proposed eligibility criteria, it should be more in the 4-6B range.
