Just remembering this epic argument my partner and I had once. We saw someone pushing a covered stroller & I swore there was a human baby in it & he swore it was a dog. We finally got close enough to get a better look... & it was BOTH. There was a baby AND a dog in it! Best argument ever.

This is an excellent 🧵 on playing the long game.
In light of last night's success, I want to tell a story about Wisconsin that starts with the Koch brother funded tea party champion Gov. Scott Walker in 2011.

This is a story about how direct action, organizing & collectivism can achieve results, even if it takes a long time to see them.

I love when people mistype "shitty" as "shirty." It usually results in a baffling but more interesting sentence. Like: "The kitchen lighting is so shirty here." You can just sit there and imagine an irritable light. So many possibilities. 😆

We went to the Tamara de Lempicka exhibit at the MFAH yesterday, and this image in particular felt like a couple of 1925 it girls going to choose the new hot Art Deco girl before Charli sang her jazz song.

This morning, I drove past a man sitting on an abandoned sofa on the sidewalk in the rain. He was smiling while he stabbed the cushions again and again with a big knife. So that's today's vibe, I guess.

Cis allies, here's a super simple way to support trans people - and you don't even have to talk to anyone on the phone!

Just add a public comment saying medical care for transgender people is essential and should not be banned from ACA plans.
The HHS rule banning trans care from many ACA plans is open for public comment now. Only 3 comments so far.

Embarrassing how the media is completely ignoring this. There's likely over 200,000 trans people on ACA plans (1% of 24 million)

Here's a little bit of anecdotal good news. 🧵
being an indie bookseller in the helltimes has felt both very stable and very stabilizing, and part of me wishes everyone could be on my side of the counter for a little while, because I think it would help some of you be a little less cynical and doomy right now. so here is my VERY anecdotal data:

Finally read Coyote Run by @lilithsaintcrow.com from @hornedlarkpress.com last night! If you want an urban fantasy with wild pulp action, glorious poetic writing, & a completely batshit hero... this is the book for you. It's a *great* way to vicariously punch (fictional) fascists. Highly recommend!
