Leaders who give freedom to their team and allows that flexibility for creative choices not only empowers artists to grow in their career but you get a much stronger art piece in the end. It can be easy for directors to be stuck on 'their vision', when every show is a collaboration of many.
Just because I'm the writer/director of TADC doesn't mean I deserve all the credit for everything. There MANY times when a board artist or an animator will come up with a detail or shot that elevate the themes/characterization in a way I didn't even think of, and I'm like "fuuuuuck that's genius..."
