Man it sure is weird that there’s a manufactured economic crisis that will require historic reindustrialization on the cheap sans worker protections while unions are being marginalized and children prepared for labor and the oligarchs who own the president need support for automation technology.

This is a fantastic thread.
In rereading Gene Sharp to get ready for lectures this week, I started thinking about the endless — and relatively unhelpful — discourse on BlueSky this week re the CR, congressional process, and whether or not anyone has an actual plan.

Tesla’s stock has dropped by nearly half in three months. Even so, investors are still debating whether Elon Musk's electric-vehicle maker remains overpriced.

One reason self-imagined lefties are nuts to attack Ryleigh Cooper is bc that's what Russ Vought wants.

Another is that her story, told locally, is the quickest way to educate people what government really is.

Russ Vought set out to make people like Ryleigh Cooper villains. Thus far, firings of government workers around the country have instead made the functions of government visible, and cherished.

And that's why it will never be enough to "express sympathies" and send "thoughts and prayers". If you want to make a difference, hire, platform, support, and put on Black folks. Anything less is cheap talk.
Cancelling @joyannreid.bsky.social means the door she held open for the next generation of Black voices will slam shut. Without her, the next her, won't get platformed by white media. That, of course, is why white media pushed her out.

Why aren't (most) Democrats responding as is required to the hostile takeover of our government? They are presently only hearing from their customers (voters) and not the people who hired them (donors). Corporate America is so far quiet about the coup. Want Dems to step up? Pressure their donors.

We, all of us, are customers of the corporations that actually tell our elected officials when to jump and how high. Some of us are their employees. That is where our power is. Do you bank with one of the only banks that exist (i.e. not credit union)? Call them and get everyone you know to do same.

Ok, he makes a fair point, so how about everyone with a VULNERABLE Republican Congress person—the ones in purple districts that barely won with Trump on the ballot—get to their district offices and demand THEY show us what’s happening inside federal buildings that Elon doesn’t want Congress to see?
Republicans have a 2 seat majority in the House. They’d love nothing more than a few progressive members of Congress being behind bars for days/weeks while fighting federal obstruction charges. Every vote matters over the next two years.

Kinda says the quiet part out loud there, "done by 2 or 3 companies". Their desire to destroy all governmental services so they can swoop in and privatize all the stuff taxes paid for then sell it to us with a free 7 day trial and $8.99 a month after that is plain to see.
Trump on air traffic control: "We're gonna sit down & do a great computerized system for our control towers. Brand new...let's spend less money & build a great system done by 2 or 3 companies...when I land in my plane, privately, I use a system from another country...I won't tell you what country"
