This is a fantastic read on the Florida Division of Emergency Management's role in the human rights disaster — and what it means for the emergency management field — from an EM expert.

It's from September, and we've since gotten more answers about the camp, but still very much worth your time.

This month’s newsletter is about the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s role in building and operating the Everglades Concentration Camp and the responsibility the rest of us in emergency management have to hold Kevin Guthrie and FDEM accountable.

In tracking contracts for the Everglades camp, it's been deeply unsettling to see the names of all the emergency management professionals and companies involved.

A system meant to help folks through the worst days of their lives pivoted to instead orchestrate the worst days of people's lives.

This is so brazenly another attempt to force women out of the workforce.

It seems my reputation for always knowing the emergency management gossip is leading to a lot of people asking if I've seen the report, and I have not!!

Frankly, I don't want to see it. Don't send it to me. I don't want to know!! Let me live in ignorance!! Please.

I really try to mind my own business, but there is no way this Justin Trudeau/ Katy Perry thing doesn't end in complete disaster.

A primary purpose of Disaster Films is to provide an opportunity for us to safely explore our collective anxieties together, but now more and more, we are expected to process our collective anxieties alone.

Seems bad?

Easy! Herbert Hoover.
That’s a new dinner party conversation: Who is someone that you hate so much that, if given the time, energy, and crew, you’d produce a 4-part documentary on them?

The boat was split in half. 9 men were dead. 2 more clung to a floating piece of wreckage and tried desperately to flip it over for 41 minutes straight. There was no possible way they were going anywhere.

Then they were killed in cold blood by the U.S. military.
