I’ve seen versions of this for decades now - basically, ‘don’t play into their hands.’ The problem is they just lie. Doesn’t matter what you do. They lie. Even if they didn’t, if you’re always choosing your actions based on fear of your adversaries’ countermoves, you will never have the initiative.
None of this makes it a good idea to wave Mexican flags during a protest against ICE when you’re trying to make the point that Trump is wrong.
