I was proud to stand with fellow scientists at the #standupforscience2025 rally in DC. Science is crucial to this country, and to destroy funding is harmful. I urge people to remember what a wise man once said: the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a scientist. My scholarship through NOAA has allowed me to pay for college and work in the field. To lose the organization would be detrimental not only for me, but also thousands of students, employees, and civilians who rely on NOAA's work.
