Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

Harm to SNAP recipients, federal workers, and others is real. In a normal democracy it’d make sense to prioritize reducing that harm in the short term.

In a rapidly backsliding democracy, harm is happening no matter what. Preventing authoritarian consolidation is the most harm-reducing move.

Who the fuck are these 'political consultants" the dems keep hiring?

I'll do it for 75% of the price. And I guarantee i'll do a better job.

Wankers.

We tried to show them after the last surrender. There's no sense in trying to convince them anymore. Primaries are the only path to a fighting opposition party now.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Please remember that your Senator is neither your friend, nor your enemy. They work for you. Call them and give them clear input. And don’t be afraid to tell them you’ll be supporting their next primary challenger if they don’t show a spine. They work for you. Threaten to fire them if you have to.

We DESPERATELY need a political party whose response to “We are going to kill you no matter what” isn’t “Oh jeez, okay sorry!” but “Fuck you, try.”

Republicans are massive pussies, we’ve seen this countless times, but Senate Dems are obsessed with handing them everything they ask for while cowering

Any Democrat voting for this should be primaried as quickly as possible because they're stupid, aren't capable of recognizing they're winning, are incapable of representing their constituents, and are cowards not up to this era's challenges.
Senate Democrats asked for a year of ACA subsidies and were told to fuck off.

So they came back and asked for a pinky promise to hold a vote on ACA subsidies that they will assuredly lose?

Seriously?
From what I have seen so far this does not seem like a good deal:

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.

It's hard not to conclude the only reason they want people to have more children is to put them to work in the mines or at some current iteration of an Epstein island. Children as servants, tools, objects. Grotesque.

I understand why we shut down American airspace for a few days after 9-11 to avoid a repeat attack but imagine shutting down American airspace to avoid releasing the Epstein files.

A note: when CSI was über popular, universities in the UK ran to create an infinite number of criminal science degrees (from 2 to 285...). When taste moved to the next fad, unis were stuck with thousands of hires. This, in a place with strong tenure and high compensation (US), is a huge liability.

My god this is for real one of the most incredible speeches I’ve ever seen by an elected US politician: ‘And if there is any way to terrify a despot, it is to dismantle the very conditions that allowed him to accumulate power. This not only how we stop Trump, it’s how we stop the next one.’
Mamdani: "We can respond to oligarchy and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves. After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him."
