It's really fascinating to watch the good movie that could have been try to surface and show its face above the mess that's onscreen

Wicked is just Carrie with a funny hat and interpretive dance in place of pig's blood and mass murder

Great review (as in well-written, not enthusiastic) from Adam Feldman. He brings up something that's been bugging me for years: the undeserved fandom of flop musicals. An enjoyable cast album is not the same as a great musical. And some shows flop bc they're just bad. Accept it

NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

It also delivers dozens of pictures of scantily clad men every day, but they're rarely so clever

I happen to know this was a gift from World's Greatest Husband.

Their happiness sickens me.

Well, their happiness and all that candy i just ate. But it's at least 40% their happiness

I watched Halloween on Halloween. I was going to watch The Fog, but it wasn't foggy and theme nights still mean something to some of us.

Fucking punk-ass theme-flakes

Saw the current tour of The Sound of Music last night and it's wonderful. Be warned, there are only 10 nuns, including Mother A, but they sing beautifully. Two moments struck me in particular:
Rolf's line, "If he knows what's good for him, he'll come over to the right side" was chilling.
And...

I don't like slashers. But screenplay by Rita Mae Brown has intrigued, it does

I love Halloween II, but if MM stole a nurse's uniform to sneak into the hospital it would transcend all known moving images. And it holds as much logic as anything else in that movie
a man in a suit and tie is saying `` you don t know what death is '' .
Alt: Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis in Halloween 2 saying, "You don t know what death is!"

IT'S EVEN WORSE THAN I THOUGHT!!!

Ragtime is a limited run 😭. It's so ironic, considering the show is about how difficult life is for middle-aged white men.
...but will Shaina Taub still be in Ragtime when Cats: TJB opens?

Okay so maybe it was my fault for wearing a tiara, but no one said anything about No Princesses. If anyone wants me I'll be recovering at the cottage.
