Vice President JD Vance gets roundly booed at the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics. "Those are a lot of boos for him, whistling jeering," says the presenter. US athletes receive a warm welcome from fans, though.

This 2,500-word essay is a remarkable exercise in circumlocution that barely mentions the OBVIOUS MAIN FACTOR in younger people's rejection of Harry Potter: what the author dismisses as J.K. Rowling’s "controversial comments on transgender rights," i.e. her ugly and obsessive antitrans crusade

Sad to learn of the death of Harry Haun at 85: an old-school shoe-leather theater reporter whose long tenure at Playbill was an invaluable resource. I worked with him for years on committees and functions, and he was a lovely man. My thoughts are with his husband, Charles Nelson.

Pam Bondi may be a truly awful Attorney General, but in fairness she’s only there because Trump don’t get his first choice, Matt Gaetz

Stop saying that the Jan 13 video of Alex Pretti is AI. It isn’t AI; his family has confirmed as much. Insisting the opposite is counterproductive. But more importantly, it doesn’t matter one way or the other: Kicking a headlight doesn’t justify being murdered ten days later.

The just-announced full cast for the Broadway revival of Rocky Horror is insane and I mean that in a very good way www.timeout.com/newyork/thea...
The Rocky Horror Show | Studio 54 | Theater in New York

It was delightful to spend snow-day Sunday afternoon on a theater critics panel at BroadwayCon! With Helen Shaw, Charles Isherwood and Mo Rocca, who are always good company.

“Never again” is not an observation but a commitment. The lesson of the Holocaust is not that it will never happen again; it’s that we must not allow it to happen again.

To realize now what Trump really is—what he’s really been all along—is embarrassing for many of his past supporters; it makes them feel foolish, because the truth has been so obvious, and guilty, because they’ve unleashed awful things. Those are hard psychic barriers to overcome… (1/2)

DOJ lies.
DHS lies.
ICE lies.

That has been established. Do not repeat their claims as fact. Their claims are arguments or, often, misleading propaganda — when not outright lies.

They are seeking to make a case for their lawlessness (and to please Trump), not seeking to inform.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

Remember: Many if not most Republican Senators and Reps know how radically dangerous Trump is. They could remove him from office and end this nightmare today if they chose—but they don’t, because they lack the integrity and courage. This is not just a Trump problem. It’s the GOP.
