In a better world this man would be in a mental institution getting the care he needs but instead he is representing Georgia in Congress

Today is January 6, the feast of the Epiphany and the setting for James Joyce’s gorgeous story “The Dead” and its somehow even more gorgeous 1987 film adaptation: John Huston’s final movie, and one of my favorite films ever made. I’ve seen it a dozen times and I get more from it with each pass.

The funniest thing about Jew-haters on social media is how they use terms like “goy” and “Talmud” as if they’d cracked some secret code about how Jews really talk and think. It’s so corny and lame. (I’ve never heard anyone call a non-Jew a goy or cite the Talmud for anything!)

This book about the 2018 hate-crime murder of gay Jewish teenager Blaze Bernstein by neo-Nazi scumbag Sam Woodward sounds compelling. But also: Their names are Woodward and Bernstein? Seriously? This is the kind of thing that makes a person feel like they live in a glitch.

I’ve spent nearly all my free time in the past couple weeks on Heated Rivalry: watching and rewatching episodes, listening to podcasts, reading interviews etc. If you haven’t seen it yet: SEE IT. The first two eps are kinda porny but if you aren’t in tears by the final two then you’re a monster.

Spent my Christmas listening to straight guys with hockey podcasts gush over Heated Rivalry and then watching the series finale and this day truly has filled me with love and goodwill

This is 100% a Cecily Strong character
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

"You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?"

If Rudolph is really the most famous of the reindeer, then how come he’s the one we wouldn’t remember? 🤔

Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.
