Trump’s pressuring the UK to axe the 2% Digital Services Tax (DST) on tech giants like Amazon, Meta and Google — one of the few taxes they actually pay.

Scrapping DST could cost us £5.2bn. Starmer is apparently ready to cave.

Historian Rutger Bregman is a well-respected proponent of a universal basic income. The Guardian has called him “the Dutch wunderkind of new ideas.”

The BBC invited Bregman to give this year’s Reith Lecture series.

Before airing, the BBC removed one sentence from his lecture, “A Time of Monsters.”

Given that the BBC endlessly gives platforms to lobbyists from the dark money junktanks without revealing their interests, shouldn't we be seeing such apologies every day?

Better still, how about not doing it? If they want to appear, we should know on whose behalf they are speaking.

People want action. Smart cities are taking action. Nations should support city action.

After ousting the BLS director and scrapping the October jobs and inflation reports, Trump is now canceling release of the advance Q3 GDP estimate.

Trump doesn't mind turning the lights off on the economy because he’d rather Americans not know how badly it’s doing under him.

Dividends are taxed at marginal rates of 8.75%, 33.75%, and 39.35%, no national insurance is levied.

Wages taxed at 20%-45% +NIC.

Aligning taxation of dividends with wages could raise £6bn a year. Even higher if national insurance is also charged.

More than half of unpaid carers in Wales are cutting back on food and heating – and this should be sounding alarm bells of shame across the land.

That’s a 53% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Something is going very wrong with support for unpaid carers in Wales.

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study explains it:

a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.

Will he be held to account,?
