An independent taskforce *just* did a huge review of ADHD in England, and the conclusion was that it's "under-recognised, under-diagnosed and under-treated."

If you want fewer people to be diagnosed with mental health problems, you should first try and make the world less maddening.

Ordering an inquiry into crisis levels in the diagnosis of neurodivergence, an issue that has uncovered how massively underdiagnosed, under-supported, and ignored (predominantly) the suffering of neurodiverse women has been since... Well, forever, is fine. It's fine. But...

Last month, I found out I have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, after decades of chronic pain and medical disinterest.

I've decided to write publicly about this, not just about hypermobility and its health impacts, but about how it feels when doctors don't care:

Welcome to my body
After twenty years of pain and repeated medical dead ends, a stranger sent me a message on Instagram. It led to a diagnosis all the doctors…

This makes me feel physically sick. No MP should support any of these measures until they have spent a month each working in asylum detention and with unhoused people.
How dare she call this 'moral'? It's disgraceful.

It should be unthinkable to punish someone for needing help, but it seems as if that’s all this Labour government wants to do.

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025... Words fail. Well, nothing says, "We care about children" more than criminalising the parent trying to protect them from further trauma, eh?
Do we learn absolutely nothing from one year to the next, as a nation?

This is a lie. Trans people are not a "risk" to cis women.

The only women put at risk by the continued pursuit of bigotry are trans women.

That's what they want. And when they've got you to accept that persecution, they'll come for abortion, & equal marriage, & contraception, & divorce...

Work is not a health outcome. It’s a social determinant — and sometimes a damaging one. Putting DWP work coaches in GP surgeries turns healthcare into a branch of welfare policing.

Tomorrow Trump will announce the ‘cause’ of autism, something he says is ‘out of control’. He also doesn’t care if (read: that) what he says is wrong.

Autism isn’t out of control, but ableism is.

Autism isn’t out of control, but eugenics are.

Autism is not an anxiety problem or lack of 'resilience'.
It is genetics based & very clearly a difference in how the brain functions, takes in sensory and social information, and communicates socially.
We need to provide proper accommodations, or take responsibility for failure when we do not.

The Government will be testing the emergency alert system this Sunday at 3pm. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. If you have a device hidden from an abuser, this alert could reveal it. You can opt out using the advice below. www.gov.uk/alerts/optin...

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

The one thing that’s making me madder than anything else around disabled people’s fight to stop welfare cuts is that it’s only us fighting. We see allies standing loudly for trans rights and Palestine -as they should - but where are they in our fight? Why don’t we matter as much?

(I know why)

If any journalist actually understood disability benefits, they’d be asking @KemiBadenoch whether constipation or food intolerance were even the sole conditions because:

1. DWP PIP data doesn’t record that.
2. Both are usually co-morbid with notoriously severe illnesses.

Someone just tweeted me and said we can’t afford to have 20–25% of the population on PIP.

So, as a PSA: 20–25% of the population AREN’T on PIP.

20–25% of the disabled population are on PIP.

The percentage of the whole population is 5.5%.

JFC this just gets worse. I don’t like wearing tight trousers so I wear baggy ones? This is ludicrous. Autistic or not there is no good excuse for what he did. And no good excuse for tarnishing our community with this utter nonsense.
In the world of 'You just can't make this up', this, from today's Times, in which we are told that Mr W - rich, famous, cannot possibly cover his bits at appropriate times because he can't wear pants. And that's because he's autistic.
I don't know where to begin unpacking how much 'no' this is.

And the Universal Credit bill has passed. Some of the sickest people in the country will suffer needlessly more now. There is no justification, no excuse. Just ugly, cruel choices by ministers too cowardly to tax the wealthy rather than cut the poor. A shameful day for Starmer’s Labour.
