Congratulations to my university. Many many congratulations. We also have an absolutely smashing institutional Copilot licence and a contract with a company of Copilot champions who don't know what underlying models it runs off. Lovely stuff. Looking forward to seeing what innovations 2026 brings.
So it looks like i hadn't mentioned this, here, so just in case let me say this plain: Instructure, the parent company & producer of the Canvas learning management software platform, has partnered with OpenAI, as of last year. There are a number of claims being made about privacy but… well. Heads up

Not even the prompts. If you are a Twitter user in the UK and Twitter sticks a Grok CSAM image in your feed for WHATEVER reason, well congrats your device just downloaded child porn. And you are legally responsible for that.
Even if nobody wants to take action against Musk for building a CSAM generator, there are people using it who are based in the UK and those prompts are absolutely something that would get you on the sex offender's register. Absolutely no justification not to try to identify and prosecute users.

If you're a family member of an autistic person, you are more likely to have autistic traits. Research says so, which is nice because autistic people have also been saying so just about forever. ;)

Something I'm definitely running into lately with LLM chat bots taking over translation is that it's getting significantly worse. An icelandic word like "Þor" used to be accurately translated as "daring" but lately these services just kind of... guess in English based on look? And it gave me "pour"
