The aspect that I don’t see nearly enough mentioned is that *even if ai will accomplish everything what the evangelists say*, producing everything with humans just checking the output, we’re still going to be fucked 10 years down the line, when there are no new people able to do this.

I see a lot of comparisons of ICE with the Gestapo and there are elements of that but it strikes me that a better analogue is the SA or post-1918 Freikorps
this piece makes an important point that I think I've also seen made by Will Stancil (unsurprising) and Ruben Gallego (wait, what?): ICE is not operating as a law enforcement agency of any sort—not an absolution of law enforcement, but recognition that these guys are literally just a terror militia.
Highly recommend every word of this from @dceiver.bsky.social. His weekly columns are some of the sharpest criticisms of the Dem leadership and calls for a fresh approach that you will find anywhere.

Turn off autoplay, put your phone down/back away from the computer a while, the way social media and the news works you're probably going to end up seeing it some time but it's abrupt and appalling and just... If you don't need to, don't, the knowing is enough. This is exactly what it is.
I watched the video and pretty much everyone is representing it pretty much accurately and I don't think you need to watch it if your takeaway is that a bunch of ICE guys were on top of a dude who they were beating and then one of them decided to shoot him at point blank range for no obvious reason
