2026 is off to a rough start... Love to talk cartoons, anime and video games. Pay me to write about them! Co-Host of

Sad to hear Twisted Pixel and Sanzaru shut down, I was afraid of that ever since both got eaten up by Meta. I’ll always remember TP for the very underrated Comic Jumper, loved Chris Sabat as Captain Smiley, one of his most unique roles. And while Sly 4 missed the mark Sanzaru were passionate devs.

Friends outside the Twin Cities, please read my friend Wes’ update as to what’s going on here. Contact your representatives. Demand it stop now.
I didn't write this for people in the Twin Cities. I wrote this to everyone else, my feeble attempt to try to be witness to the occupation of Minnesota and the chaos of every single day right now. open.substack.com/pub/wburdine...
Letter from an Occupied Minnesota

As a podcast we like to reflect our values and believes every year with a donation during Anime of the Year voting. With living in Minneapolis, its been a tough few weeks and we want to support those in need. Every vote this year we will be donating $1 to a local MPLS food shelf

Here's a way to help in Minnesota right now.
Pentz Homes will be doing a rolling food drive to support our struggling local businesses and help the families who are afraid to leave their homes. You can help in two ways! Shop at local immigrant-owned stores and donate the goods, or send us your funds and we will do the shopping for you.

Right, so, where to start with this... I think the thing I need to get out of the way immediately is that Fairy Tail honestly isn't great! There's a lot in it that can be picked apart and criticised and rightly so. Mashima's approach to both world-building and storytelling is a mixture of Vibes and
Fairy Tail (2006, Hiro Mashima)

I definitely missed the train for Fairy Tail quite a few years ago at this point, by quite a ways, but it's here, and I read it, and it did a lot of Things

The Powderhorn Park area, where the rally is taking place, has long been a cultural/housing hub of Native Americans
These dancers are a common sight at Minneapolis protests and cultural events. Protesters are gathered around as they wait for the protest against ICE to start in south Minneapolis.

What a tragedy. His work on the original Fairly OddParents was iconic. Condolences to his family and friends.
RIP Guy Moon, the composer for several series, including Fairly OddParents (and the rest of Butch Hartman's work), 2 Stupid Dogs, Cow and Chicken, Ned's Declassified, Big Time Rush, Back in the Barnyard, and many more.

He was 63 years old.

there is no reason for ICE to exist. immigrants aren’t doing anything wrong by trying to live and work and provide for their loved ones. I don’t care how people got here. if they want to be here that’s good. leave them alone.
