“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.

The Local Govt Bill might sound dull but it’s anything but.

It strips out councils’ responsibility for wellbeing, accessibility & inclusion. That means fewer safe footpaths, fewer inclusive playgrounds, fewer spaces where disabled people can belong.

Submission Sunday: Local Government Bill
The Bill might be boringly titled, but the content strips out protections, accessibility, and inclusion requirements – which is deeply concerning long-term.

Worth noting this is not a "research paper": it's an unpublished, un-peer-reviewed university research project—essentially a 10K word essay—on liberal economics written for a Master's degree in political science. 1) these are on a rotating schedule planned years in advance
2) no one considers advertising rules when planning these (e.g. Europe has conferences and strict rules)
