"we take the responses from 'people who will spend two hours on a survey for a $20 gift card' and then we reweight it to reflect the general population"
I got called for a Roy Morgan poll the other day, which I participated in. At the end they asked if I'd be willing to do an additional online survey for a $20 gift card, "sure" I said.

The email invite arrived — "it takes most people about two hours to complete" — absolutely not!

Maybe now's the time to take your head out of your arse and start listening to your coalition partners instead of dunking on them

An apology wouldn't go amiss either

Just seems a little short while ago that various government politicians, and people acting as their media surrogates, were outraged and scandalized by, and poured scorn on, comments from younger women politicians for suggesting many people don't trust cops.

Only one of these things has The Post deemed worthy of front page coverage.
It cost Casey Costello $4500 to hire a room to meet with Irish anti-trans activist Helen Joyce. $1000 for a council social event to unveil a painting is peanuts & much more positive bc it involves sthg tangible (painting) & supports a local artist.

I'm sure it's totally coincidental that the AoNZ government's changes to the Marsden Fund have been followed by successful applications led by female investigators dropping from 55% to 33%, and successful applications led by Māori investigators dropping from 13% to 5%. 🫠 🧪

Something centre left parties all over the world need to understand. Voters aren’t going to choose the ersatz right wing party when the real one is right there. All that lurching ever rightward does is alienate left wing voters.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a more succinct and powerful statement of the situation than this: “Few voters who prioritize bigotry want the diet version.” Got damn.
'Few voters who prioritize bigotry want the diet version, and trying to appease them alienates parts of the Democratic coalition. Yesterday’s vote shows that the path to defeating Trumpism is not accommodating it, but opposing it with the values of freedom, equality, and affordability.'
