I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
X-Files does this odd thing where if they have a scene involving characters from a foreign country (e.g. Russia), they'll hire US/Canadian actors, have them deliver the lines on-set in English, dub them over in the appropriate language, and then subtitle the dubbed lines back into English.

Almost every time I go to the coffee shop in my #HEMA training gear between classes (tee shirt, poofy pants, knee socks) with Docs and my battle jacket thrown on top, I get complimented by random queer people. I'm just sayin, the time is ripe for pluderhosen to come back in a big way.

once again I find myself returning to this thought, and that is nearly the only thing I have to say on the subject;
goddamn every new thing that I learn about RFK jr has me feeling weirdly defensive. like YES, I've decapitated dead wildlife, but I'm NORMAL about it; fine, yes, I've used urine as a dye mordant but I kept my piss bucket OUTSIDE!
Remember that story that came out a few years ago about how RFKjr had a 5 gallon bucket full of piss casually sitting in his kitchen when that one reporter came over?

Watching videos of hoplite reenactors, I am struck by how many of them use the 'a-hoo' grunt from 300 or a 'huh huh huh' marching cadence, but none of them do the *actually attested* things of the "alale!" (ἀλαλή) battle-cry or singing a song (a παιᾶν).

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
